Radishes, a crunchy superhero for your health

Mild or spicy, radishes are great healthy treats or accompaniments.

Did you know that radishes are low in calories and rich in nutrients? 

  • They are packed with vitamin C, fiber, and minerals, which support overall health.
  • They contain antioxidant properties, such as anthocyanins and flavonoids, which help combat oxidative stress in the body.
  • They are great for digestion, may alleviate bloating, and help with bowel movements.
  • Their high-water content helps with hydration.
  • They help cleanse toxins from the body.

Did you also know that radishes' stems contain a high level of vitamin C?  Don't cut it off too close to the radish itself; leave half an inch of the stem for your health's sake!

Radishes are great for a healthy snack, over salads, quickly roasted, or pickled. And if you are growing your own, the less you water them, the spicier the radishes will be. And if you are not growing your own, don't hesitate to add them to your weekly grocery list.
