Let go of pressure. Choose peace.
Years ago, a Chinese ping pong coach whispered a truth that only life eventually taught me to understand: ‘Don’t try so hard. If you put too much pressure on a stick, it will break.’
At the time, it was advice for my ping pong backhand swing that challenged me. Ultimately, I understood it was deeper than that; a metaphor for living.
We chase, we cling, we fight for connection. But the most sacred relationships are never won through struggle. They arrive gently, held together by respect, loyalty, compassion, and love. They ask nothing but gentle presence. They feel like being met, not being tested.
Some ties are meant to loosen or let go.
Some are intended to teach us how to soften. What they are is stillness moments that warm the heart and quiet the mind, if we let them be.
